WELCOME

Welcome to the web site for the Department of Animal Science, Food and Nutrition! The department offers a comprehensive education leading to undergraduate and graduate degrees in three areas of study:  (1) Animal Science, (2) Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and (3) Hospitality and Tourism Administration.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Animal Science major is designed for students who want a career working in the animal industry. Upon graduation, students find rewarding careers in: veterinary medicine, animal production, feed and pharmaceutical sales and research, farm operations/ranches, feedlots, stables, kennels, and government and international agencies.

The Human Nutrition and Dietetics major is designed for the student who wants to work with people in the promotion of health and nutrition. For those interested in becoming a registered dietitian, this program offers the courses and provides hands-on experience toward that certification. Graduates find careers with community health programs, hospitals, clinics, public agencies, sports teams, and catering businesses.

The Hospitality and Tourism Administration major is a growing field of study. Studies are designed to equip students with the necessary skills to succeed in a managerial position. Graduates find careers with cruise lines and tour companies, hotels, resorts, restaurants and food companies, sports teams, as well as tourist attractions and gaming.
